About Roost

Roost (栖息) is a gentle stress, sleep, and habit companion for iPhone and Apple Watch. It reads your Apple Health metrics on-device to show a live stress reading, nightly recovery, guided breathing and meditation, smart reminders, and a wake alarm — all private, no account, no servers.

Getting started

  • Permissions: On first launch, finish the short intro. At the end, allow Health and Notifications so reminders, scores, and the wake alarm work.
  • Apple Watch: Install the watch app from the Watch app on your iPhone. Add a Roost complication to your watch face from the face editor.

Frequently asked questions

Reminders or alarms aren’t firing.

Open Settings → Notifications → Roost and make sure notifications (and sounds) are allowed. Check that a Focus / Do Not Disturb schedule isn’t silencing them, and that the in-app quiet hours don’t cover that time.

The wake alarm rings only briefly.

On iOS 26 and later, enable Gradual Wake in Sleep setup and grant the alarm permission when asked — Roost then schedules a real system alarm that rings until you tap “I’m up.” On older systems it falls back to a repeating notification volley.

The breathing countdown / haptics.

Tap “Start” on a breathing pattern. The orb shows a per-second countdown; on Apple Watch you’ll also feel a tap each second and a directional pulse when the phase changes (inhale ↑ / exhale ↓).

My watch face complications show an exclamation mark.

Remove the Roost complication from the watch face, then add it again so watchOS regenerates the preview. If it persists, re-launch the Roost watch app once, or restart the watch.

Pro purchase & restoring it.

Roost Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription). If you reinstall or switch devices, open the upgrade screen and tap Restore Purchases to re-validate your Apple receipt. Pro supports Family Sharing.

How do I delete my data?

In-app, go to Settings → Reset Local Data to clear everything stored on the device. Health data is managed in Apple Health and is not affected.
